Fairy Sweet.......

Hello, back again....told you I was going to try and be a better blogger!
Today I am posting a little inspiration post over on the Saturated Canary Blog....and I have tried something a little bit different for me....An Artists Trading Card!
The girls having clearing out their rooms and were getting rid of the folders that they collected those GoGo Crazy Bones cards in........they are cards and little plastic figures for anyone who is wondering! .......so I immediately nabbed them as they are the perfect size for ATCs!!

I have used one of Krista's newest digis , Fairy Sweet.....and I have tried to go for a woodland fairy theme.......I am a sucker for a fairy.....OH just had a brainwave maybe I will make a set of seasons!! Oooooo the cogs are turning!

I have coloured her with my copics and then used my watercolour pencils for the background and also various wee stamps too.....lots of white pen and loads of sparkle!
Thanks for popping in!

A Challenge entry!!!.....

So I managed to enter a Challenge!! Yeah! It's been a long while and I don't know if that is why my footfall on my blog has gone down....I know I haven't been very active but I am trying hard to rectify that so my lovely followers don't get bored!
The Ribbon Girl Blog have a Magnolia Only challenge this week and they want to see peeps make a tag.....

I covered my tag with some pages from an old book and then added a thin layer of gesso....a little bit of stencilling and I have coloured my little lass with a brown pencil and also added a wee bit of shading round the edge......I think I splodged some crackle paint on too!...the flowers are all from The Ribbon Girl....birthday pressie from my sis....and the seam binding too which I wet and scrunched up....

Thanks for popping in!

Altered Bottle......

I have been working on this for the last few days and am really pleased with how it has turned out!
This is one of those little mini bottles of wine....thought I would start off small.....I began by coating it all with Gesso then I added the torn book pages and then added some Distress Ink to age it a wee bit.......
the lovely topper is from Cardmakers Delight and I have torn and inked the edges and added loads of flowers with my hot glue gun....
this wee bit of chain has been languishing in my stash drawer for ages so have added it with a wee button and a tiny vintage key..........
Another wee view of the flowers and lace around the bottom.....
I also found a wee cork which fitted perfectly and I added a couple of pins to the top and some seam binding distressed with some more DI!!

Thanks for looking!

Now that I am off for the duration of the school hols...(perks of being a dinner lady!)....I have loads more crafting time when the girls are off doing their own thing so I have decided to have a go at Mixed Media.....I have been watching loads of Youtube videos....and here are a couple of my first attempts...

I am really pleased with how they have come out considering I am limited to what I have stash wise...looking forward to getting away to Glasgow at the end of the week, gonna find me a craft shop to stock up on some paints etc!

Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday..

I knew it had been a while since I had shared my desk but when I went to find my last WOYWW it was way back in Oct 2011!! oh my goodness!!
Well I have no desk today to share as I can't actually get in my wee cupboard....so I figured sharing it today would shame me into getting stuck in and sorting it out....I am off for the school hols so really have no excuse not to....plus it is pouring here today!!  I will post next week with a lovely tidy space!
The Ikea trolley is my new purchase which is still waiting to be sorted out....sometimes I like to go craft in the conservatory if it is a nice day rather than sitting in my wee cubbie, so I thought the trolley would be a good idea as I can just wheel everything through!
I will leave you with a couple of wooden apples I made for Teacher gifts this year....

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Breathe..................

Time for a wee Facebook Challenge over on our Saturated Canary Page :) and its a nice easy one....
ANYTHING GOES!!

I have recently been trying out some mixed media art so have done a wee canvas....but I should have remembered to double check the image I used was still available and unfortunately it is not, it was one of the Help One Now Fundraisers and she is called Breathe....which I have to make myself remember to do these next few days!!........my eldest girl is off to Cadet Camp for two weeks and the youngest is taking part in her first Triathlon which is being held in the town to celebrate The Queens Baton coming through today.....we had one for the Olympics too but she had only had her cast taken off the day before after breaking and dislocating her arm so couldn't do it and she was not pleased! So she has all her kit laid out and ready for the morning!
I don't have much in the way of supplies yet, like paints and sprays etc but I managed to get some Gesso and Modpodge so I could start playing and I have to say I am loving getting messy! I have spent far too long on youtube watching some amazing peoples work!
Thanks for looking and I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!!
