I still seem to be lacking in mojo....I have loads of images coloured just can't seem to bring them together with a card....hence the CAS style on this card!

New Saturated Canary Image

I received my new images form Krista yesterday teatime and I had to get colouring straight away! You are going to love them ALL!!

They will be released tomorrow!

Ain't she gorgeous!! And so appropriate for the rotten weather we have been having here for the last few months. I have coloured her skin and hair with my Promarkers and her clothes with pencils.....I have also used glossy accents for the umbrella as I wanted it to be one of those clear ones but I don't think it is showing up too well in the photos? The card itself is pretty CAS as I really wanted to get it finished last night so I could get it posted up today. The brown paper is from the inside of all my Christmas wrapping paper rolls...perfect Kraft paper!!

I hope you love her as much as I do! I am off to finish colouring some more!

Happy New Year!

Although I am not really welcoming it this year as I turn 40 in April EEEKkkkkk!! In my head I am still in my 20s!

Here we go with Challenge Number 8 at Saturated Canary Challenges and this fortnight it is “Clean and Simple”

The usual rules apply you must use either a Saturated Canary Digi Stamp OR a Simply Sassy Rubber Stamp

I have had this little frame for ages so I gave it a few coats of white acyrlic paint and then a thin coat of crackle glaze......I have coloured "Making Valentines" with my Promarkers...and a little bit of inking on the edges and thats my clean and simple!

Well here I am back with a New card! If you missed the second lot of faves then you can scroll down to the post below.

This is a card order I was asked to do for a non girly girl so pink was not an option! I love this image "Janessa" and this is my first time colouring her. The paper is from Raspberry Road Designs....flowers from my stash and the butterflies I have had for ages and never used because they had shimmery holographic edges, but I just trimmed them off and voila perfectly lovely little butterflies!

Here are a few snaps from Christmas day..........the girls had a fab day and we did it all again yesterday when my little sis and partner Dave came over from the East coast!

I will leave you with a pic of my wee jar of captured fairies that Lucy gave me! They only flutter around the jar at night time!

It's that time of year now where everyone is sharing their favourite makes from the year...I have found it impossible to narrow mine down so have made a few collages of some of my faves....I maybe back with more!

The weather here is horrid...howling gales and rain so I am off to move the mountain of kids presents blocking the entrance to my cubby and going to have a play with the lovely new brushes I got for my Christmas xx

Now I know that there is no hint of a boy image here but I have made this card for my dear hubby so does that still count!!??

I have coloured the gorgeous Suzie Stockings with my Promarkers and Pencils, I have also stamped a tiny bit of holly and added to her hair and a little piece of mistletoe too! The sentiment I made myself on the computer.

Well?? How many Saturated Canary Digis did you all buy??

Please don't pay too much attention to these photos...they are awful! My camera is not connecting up to my laptop (I have ordered a new cable and am hoping that fixes the problem and it is not the actual camera!) so I have used Lucy's camera for these and it's not the best of cameras.

I have had this card sitting for a while now it's the last one I made before my skin got bad, still smothering the horrid cream on so I haven't been in my cubby as I don't want to spoil any of my papers with big oily fingerprints!

I have used the gorgeous "Sleeping Beauty" for this card and I have used my Promarkers and pencils to colour her...I love her beautiful big lashes!

Yeah Saturated Canary Challenge Number 5 and this fortnight it couldn’t be easier “Anything Goes”

So you have no excuse! Lol We only ask that you use a Saturated Canary Digi stamp OR a Simply Sassy rubber stamp and with Krista heading for world domination who doesn’t have one of those or indeed all of them?!! lol

I have used the fab Queen of Hearts for my little piece of “art”…not sure what to call it!

I have had these little wooden hearts for ages that I found on Ebay…..painted up with white paint and then inked with Walnut Stain…the papers are from Summer Time Designs

The hearts I have coloured and then painted with Crackle paint and the little tiny playing cards were from a Christmas cracker last year!

I have coloured this gorgeous image with my Promarkers and pencils for shading and the seam binding has been stained with Walnut Stain DI. And finally some little red gems to finish off!

I hope you like! Going to try and find some time to make an Alice and a Mad Hatress one too!

Judes Christmas Wreath

I have abandoned my cubby the last couple of days as my eczema has broken out pretty bad and I just feel all icky with the horrid creams but I did manage to have a little mess about with Jude yesterday and we made one of the gorgeous book page wreaths that I have seen around blogland.....you can see a wee tutorial on how we did it HERE

I also have a quick question....is anyone else getting some weird sites in their traffic stats? Most of my referring sites are all strange ones and there is no way I am going to click on any of them to see what they are!!

Yay Challenge Number 3 kicks off today over on the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog!! We have been getting soooo many gorgeous entries, keep up the good work!!!! Thank you all so much for joining in!!!

This fortnight it's as easy as 1..2...3!!.....1 image, 2 patterned papers and 3 embellishments!

I have used Penny, from the Ragamuffin Series...coloured with my Promarkers. Flexmarkers and pencils. The papers were given to me in a RAK a while back..aren't they gorgeous...been holding on to them for a while...need to go on the hunt for some more! I have used 2 flowers and 1 button for my embellishments and I have distressed all the edges and added a tiny bit of stickles to the edges which you can't really make out in the pics.

Saturated Canary Challenge #2

Wow what a load of wonderful entries we had for our very first challenge...thank you to all you lovely ladies who joined in the fun!

Now I have scheduled this post and I hope Mr Blogger is behaving and has indeed posted it. As we speak I shall be en route over to the East coast of Scotland to just outside Banchory with all the troops to visit my little sis and her partner for a few days!

But anyway enough waffling from me.... lets get on with Saturated Canarys second challenge ! Which this fortnight is to use stitching real or faux!

I have used Violet for my card....coloured with my promarkers and pencils...the stitching I have done by hand as I don't have a sewing machine....I normally just use a pen and doodle some stitching but for some crazy reason I thought I would hand stitch!

Saturated Canary "Hand Me Downs"

I found this great tutorial here on shading behind the image...so wanted to give it a go...think I have maybe been a bit heavy handed with the blue but for a first go I am pretty pleased with the result.

This is another gorgeous Saturated Canary Digi stamp "Hand Me Downs"

She has been coloured with my promarkers again and a pencil for some shading......can you make out the tiny pearls? I ordered some of ebay in various sizes 99p each and there are loads in each bag!.....the tiny ones are 1mm I could barely see them!

I will be disappearing for a few days...going over to the east coast to Banchory to visit my wee sis...soooo looking forward to getting away for a couple of days!

Heather Huggins won the competition over on Facebook to name her! I think it suits her perfectly!

The light is a bit weird here today so my pic is not that great.....I have coloured her with my pencils....these colours have been in my head since I was away on girly shopping trip with my best mate...the shops were full of these colours....not really an orangey person myself tho....clashes with my hair!!

The music paper is from a music book that I bought in a charity shop....bought a few of them for 50p each! Still feels a bit wrong tho ripping them up!

I made the flowers from a piece of fabric which has been sitting around since my cross-stitching days!

I love this little chap! The General is one of the new digi stamps available today at Saturated Canary Digi Stamps! I love his grin with the tooth missing and aren't boys fab at fashioning a gun out of anything they can get their hands on!?

I have coloured him with my promarkers and stamped around the image with one of my grunge stamps. The camouflage paper was a freebie I found on the web and the netting is a washing detergent bag that I coloured with my promarker.

Well I have had the gorgeous material sitting in my cubby for a while now and I knew I would use it at some point...well......

As soon as I saw "Kitty" in Krista's Saturated Canary Digi Store I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

I have used some of the material to cover this little canvas and the coloured her with a mixture of Promarkers and Pencils then fussy cut her out and also added a little black border to make her stand out a bit more.

Spent all day yesterday in my cupboard finishing all my card orders.....8 cards later and I am now free to play!

This was a card a made a wee while back but never got posted...no colouring involved! Just some distressing of the paper and then I stamped this little Gorjuss Girl with brown ink.....not sure about the green ribbon, think it might be a bit too green.

I have coloured her with my Promarkers..pic at the bottom of this post....the papers are from my new MME pad...I have used my new magnolia die and have made the flowers and leaves myself to match the paper.

I got a message on Monday from Krista Smith...the fabulous artist behind the Simply Sassy stamps from Sugar Nellie....She is now selling digi stamps and is also setting up a challenge blog and she wants ME ... lil'ol me in my cubby!...to be on her Design Team!! Phil and the girls thought I had finally cracked up when they saw me leaping about the room! She has set up an Etsy store where you can buy the digi stamps ... Flower Fairy ....

I have used a Flower Fairy image for this card...never sure about what images to use for an older persons card, most of my stamps are a bit girly if you know what I mean...but I think she is lovely. It is supposed to be a decoupage sheet but that's way to fiddly for me so I just used the main image...... I have added some leaves which have been in my stash for ages and a little flower and a couple of pins.....the numbers I have glittered.

I have some REALLY exciting news but am keeping hush at the moment...I will tell but not yet......

I don't know what is wrong with my pics lately..they just aren't coming out crisp and clear enough! Need to check the camera settings me thinks.

Well this is my entry for The Sugar Bowl...a lovely sketch to follow and an optional theme of "one for the girls".

And it's a Sassy again...this time I have paper pieced her and added some sparkle and also added a little bit of glossy accents to her compact.

Yeuch..it is horrible weather here today...perfect for staying in my cubby and colouring in! I have a few stamps that haven't even been inked yet..tut tut! Phil has taken the girls swimming, giving me peace to get tidied up and hoovering done so now I have nothing stopping me from staying in my cupboard for the rest of the afternoon.....I have even made them a big pile of pancakes for when they get back!

I will share with you this card I was asked to make.....it had to have a fiddle on it and a red tassel on the fiddle! Found an image on the web and made a little tassel with some thread!

This is my entry for the Sugar Nellie Facebook challenge..which is to use black...I have coloured 5th Avenue with my pencil...I am chuffed with my flowers...made from an old organza bag, cut into circles and then hold the edges close to a candle, being very careful!

I have opened up a Facebook page ( The Cupboard Under The Stairs) to see if I can sell any of my cards as I am having no luck on Ebay. So I have been beavering away trying to build up some stock for it. So here is one of the first baby cards to go on. I love this Mo Manning image, she is so cute and I do love fairies! I have coloured her with my DI's...added a tag and some flowers and ribbon.

Quick retirement card that I hastily threw together for a last minute card order, using a Bugaboo freebie coloured with my pencils.

I have also had a go at this "no lines" lark...goodness it was hard! But I do like the effect...not sure if I will be doing it too often as it took me ages!lol Will get her on a card this week and share with you all later in the week...got to go now and tidy up my cubby...been playing in there most of the day and there's stuff everywhere!

Wow...hardly any cards in the whole of my six weeks off and here I am back again!

This time for the Simply Sassy Header Challenge...the two winners get their Sassy in the blog header!

You have to match Elaine's' Sassy which you can see over on the blog... looking at mine now I don't know if it is that good a match! I have used my Distress Inks which I have dug out again and dusted off my paintbrush! Really want to go and visit Elaine for some hints and tips...she truly is the Queen of the Inks!

I am a bit worried that swirl is going to be in the way!

The Sugar Bowl #65

This is my entry for the Sugar Bowl challenge, which is a lovely sketch and an optional theme of blue.

I coloured this Gorjuss Girl with a mix of Promarkers and pencils, but when I went to my ridiculously vast amount of patterned papers not one matched!! Can't believe I don't have any blues!! Well that's a lie I do have some but they were too manly....so what a perfect excuse to get on the Internet.(very unlucky to not live near a bricks and mortar shop to go in and stroke all the lovely papers!) I ordered a couple of paper pads but they arrived this morning and are gorgeous but not the right shade of blue!...so it was back to the drawing board and out came the trusty promarkers and I just coloured some white card to match. Now I know that you are all saying why didn't you do that to start with! Well it has been a long time since I have bought any new papers! ( that's a lie actually shhhhh!)

Hold onto your hats!! I have made a card today that does not have a Simply Sassy on it! This is a lovely digi stamp from Mo Manning....I would never eat candyfloss when I was wee as I thought it was real cotton wool! Doh!

Now forgive me as I cannot remember the blog that I saw a card with the name down the side like this......if anyone knows let me know! I am going off bloghopping to see if I can find it again!

I had more or less the whole day today to play in my cubby....it's amazing how much time I have when I don't touch the laptop!lol

My entry for the Sugar Bowl.......been playing about with my promarkers trying to get the nack of colouring black hair and clothes again.....don't know why I am so scared of the black pen!

OOoo I loved colouring this girl in...her hair was gorgeous to colour! I made this for the challenge over on the Sugar Nellie Facebook page which is "Funky Hair"

Now get this...I thought I had better make a note of which colours I have used and then I could post it up...but me being stoopid wrote them on the back of the image and what did I do? Stuck the blooming thing down before copying them out again! I think the hair was Amethyst, Lilac and Blossom...but the others escape me!

I coloured her out in the garden the other day...the weather is still gorgeous here...that's a whole week!!

Then I had another mild disaster...when I stuck the swirl on I left the card closed and when I came back to it it had stuck to the inside of the card! Luckily it was still a bit wet so I managed to save it!

Candy Now Closed

Goodness it has been nearly a month since I have made a card!!

This is the first inking of Guinevere and I struggled a bit with colouring her dress...but my new fine nibs certainly helped! I have inked the edges with Walnut Stain and stamped with a TH stamp with Dusty Concord. The papers are from a L.L.Bowen 6x6 pad that I bought for a quid at the SECC.....a little scrap from my old book and a TH birdcage inked up with the Walnut Stain again. The heart I have had kicking about for ages and I have added some crackle glaze but it's not really showing up in the photo. The cute little bird is from K& Co....it was in the candy I won over on Krista's blog a while back.

I have put together a few little bits and bobs and a brand new Guinevere Stamp..if you would like to win it please leave me a comment and I will draw a winner on Friday (29th)

Simply Sassy GDT call.....

I have given myself a bit of a pep talk recently and told myself that my cards are good enough to start entering DT calls so how could I resist when I popped into blogland this evening and saw this....

My most favourite blog Simply Sassy are having a GDT call!! Let me tell you my stamping addiction came out big style when the Simply Sassys were released....I have even taken to meeting up in car parks to feed my addiction.....waving to you Christel!lol

I have to choose 3 cards/projects to showcase my style.... I don't think I have a particular style as I like to try all things!

So here are the 3 I have picked out....I could have kept on adding!..and I have changed them a couple of times!!

I love Carnival Girl...coloured with my Prisma Pencils.

Romantic Dreamer...this time coloured with my trusty Promarkers...Loving the new fine nibs!!

My altered frame using Bella Bunting...with Promarkers again.

My finger has been hovering over the Publish button for the last half hour thinking will I won't I!..But what harm can it do to enter! Wish me luck!

Well I am back from a fab week in Cornwall...really didn't want to come back....we tried to book an extra couple of days but the park was full booked :0(

This was our second time as we went last year too but the girls loved it sooo much they wanted to back again and they want to go back next year too...think we might just have to book the two weeks though as a week just isn't long enough!

The girls fave stop in Newquay, Moo Mooz...the best Choco Smoothies in the world according to Lucy...you can get practically any chocolate bar made into a smoothie! I had to pinch Lucy's hat as my head was getting burnt!

A special thank you to the lovely man at the Dinosaur Roadshow...which wasn't opening until the day we left...he very kindly let Jude in for a sneak peek which she was over the moon with! If you are in Newquay please go along for a look it was fab!!

Also thought I would show you all how Judes little fairy garden is doing, you can see the original post here The original roof didn't make it through the winter but she has used one of her many shells for the new roof.

Please can you give me your opinions on these altered jars? I finished them last night for the girls to give their teachers but I am really not sure....this is the first time at altering jars and I'm just not sure.

I have gone with a neutral colour scheme...there are some book pages stuck around the outside which you can't see very well...some lace and some seam binding....I have coloured the lovely sassys with my pencils and added some flowers and leaves from my stash......just not sure if they are altered enough if you see what I mean??

Candy Now Closed

First inking for Simply Sassy 5th Avenue......wish I had legs like that !

The paper is from a Kate Knight pad and I have added some little hearts and a ribbon buckle...the numbers I covered in fine glitter and the sentiment is from StampingAllDay.

Now I have put together a little kit (if you can call it that...just some bits'n'bobs) but it does include a brand new 5th Avenue stamp ...if you would like to win it please leave me a comment and I will pick a winner on Friday.......As I didn't have any candy for my blogoversary back in May I will be having a few more little giveaways over the next few weeks so keep popping by!!

Well this was one of the first cards I sold last night at the school Fayre!......another page ripped from my old book...a luggage tag from a pack I found in WhSmiths all inked up with Walnut Stain...I have used my pencils to colour in Carnival Balloon...first time being inked up for her!! Kinda liked this one and part of me didn't want to let her go...do you ever get that with your cards?...I have a couple that I never took to the fayre cos I just can't part with them!

I was sooo pleased with all the interest I got...even though I was a little bit embarrassed with people ooohing and ahhing over my cards! I sold 15 bookmarks, 21 cards and both of the little sets of notelets...which came to just under £60 for the school! A few folk did say that I wasn't charging enough ( £1 for the bookmarks, £1 for the CAS cards, £2 for the other cards and £2 for the notelets) but I just wanted to make sure that I sold something!lol

Baby card today....this is the last little piece of paper and I cannot remember the make, sorry. I have done some faux stitching around the edge...I love my new Marianne die saves so much time...I used to sit for ages cutting out swirls to roll up! I have added a tiny dummy and the sentiment is printed from the computer.

I'm off to bed now...my throat is aching, knowing my luck I will come down with something just in time for the holidays!

I have bookmarks coming out my ears here in the cupboard...here are a few that I made yesterday.

I wanted to ask if you think a £1 is okay to ask for these at the school fayre?

They are such a great way to use up all the little bits and bobs that I have had lying about for ages!

I have also bought my first book for ripping up! Feels a bit naughty though ripping pages out of a book!

Right better get back to it...I know I have probably made far too much stuff and will have loads left but I would rather take too much than run out.....says me being very optimistic!!

Been having a go at colouring with just the black pencil....it's not great, but for a first attempt I am pretty pleased with it.

I love this sentiment..(.perfect for Fort William weather!!lol ..although I don't want to jinx it, it has been pretty nice here the last couple of days!)...it was a freebie from PaperMakeUp Stamps not sure if it is still available.

Another card done today to go in my box for the school fayre....... Simply Sassys Luv a latte... I love her big eyes! The paper is from my 6x6 Basic grey pad all inked with Walnut Stain...the little flowers I made myself with a couple of punches and some brads and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

This is what I am most excited about...I was like a kid at Christmas playing with it! My own custom stamp which I ordered from Nicky at Stampingallday no more printing out labels which I never really thought looked that great stuck on the back of my cards.

Another go at using my greys for colouring...love this Kenny K image! I have used my Cools, Warms and Ices for this one...think I have finally got cracked black hair! The playing cards are from a Christmas cracker...they have been sitting in my stash forever!

Here is one of my strange card orders...it had to have an Ikea pencil on it!! I have coloured Relaxing Ronnie with my pencils....printed the sentiment on the computer....added some bits and bobs and there you go....customer was delighted with it! Phew!

Edited to add......the reason it had to have an ikea pencil on it was for a bit of a joke...the person would always ask anyone who was going to ikea to bring him back some pencils...

Not been about much lately in blogland....there is the possibility of me having a table at the school fayre to raise funds for the school so I have been busy making some bits and bobs....mainly book marks and things like that.

I have had my first go at these bookmarks which are incredibly easy to make, there is a fab tutorial over on the Simply Sassy blog....I always thought they were tricky to make!

Must dash got scraps of paper lying about everywhere gotta tidy up!

This is what I have created with my Simply Create DT kit this month.........the frame I have painted with acrylic paint and then distressed with Walnut Stain....these gorgeous papers are Cratepaper...Neighbourhood collection..... I added Bella Bunting (which wasn't part of the kit) and cut out some bunting and tied with some string ....I used the tulle to make a big bow and also ran some through my big shot with Tims tattered foral die.....you can't see it very well in the pic...I think I might add some more to make it stand out a bit better.

OH this weather is horrible!! I have just been blown home from work...I come over that bridge in the pic and at one point I had to stop and hold on!!! really don't want to go back out to collect poor Jude....I don't have the car today so we are gonna have to walk!!

View out the front window...that poor wee tree is not looking good...I don't know if it will make it!!I will be hiding in my cupboard tonight I really don't like the wind...the house is making all sorts of weird noises!

Steampunk I think??

This is quite spooky....I was in the middle of uploading the pics for this post and I discovered that I have won my first ever Sugar Bowl Challenge!! And the prize is Steampunk goodies!!!

I was stumped a bit at first with this card....I knew I wanted to try this steampunk style...after receiving my new Sassys.. but wasn't completely sure what it was...so after googling steampunk images I figured as long as it looks a bit old and has cogs and bits and bobs then that would be it..... am I right? or completely wrong!?

Please give me any tips or advice!!

As it is my blogs 2nd Birthday (where has the time gone!) and I haven't managed to get round to organising some candy, I thought I would give you all a giggle...........

This is my very first ever card, made way back in 2004 when I was about 8 months pregnant with Jude.....Naff eh!! I am amazed at how much I have improved and that is thanks to all you guys out there with your incredible blogs providing so much inspiration!

This is the one I was most pleased with...Judes birth announcements....I didn't come up with the design, it was in a cardmaking book that I don't have anymore. Took ages punching out all those flowers...and I was heavily preggers at the time...I think at one point I was actually standing on the punch as my hand was aching!! Tut tut!!

I used my pencils to colour Bella Bunting...isn't she cute? I have also just treated myself to set 7 of the Simply Sassys...you still have time to do the blog hop, there are some fab cards to see!

Sorry but it is way too hot here to be sitting in my wee cupboard..so I have no cards to share with you...but I will bore you all with some pics from our walk this afternoon.

We had to drag the girls right enough!lol but once we were there they enjoyed themselves. We went 5 mins up the road to Nevis Range where there are some lovely forest trails.

They have not long finished a high wire assault course...looks fab but not for me...don't like heights!

me in the cardi....too hot...but being ginger and freckly I burn within 5 mins!lol

We managed to find the one cloud in the sky!!

Stopped for an ice cream and a coffee and watched the gondolas for a while

The view of Aonach Mor......someone said the little patch of snow looks like Snoopy...can you see it!! I had to draw it out when we went home but Lucy still didn't see it!

Finally finished my entry for the challenge over on the Simply Sassy blog...the winner gets their coloured image displayed on the blog header for two months!!

This is Butterflies and Pigtails..one of the stamps I got for my birthday...love her!!

I saw on a blog somewhere and forgive me as I can't remember but thank you for sharing the idea....if you don't have one of those notebook edge punches....use a hole punch and scissors to snip into the holes and there you go!!

Managed to squeeze some time in to make this card for challenge 58 over at The Sugar Bowl....Marlene has a lovely sketch to follow this week with the added option on buttons.

The paper I think is Basic Grey...I cut it up and threw away the bottom bit!

The flowers are my new purchase from Crafty Emma's Store I used my Promarker to colour the yellow ones.
